Good news: There’s more than one way to access the Ohio HCRC online courses! Answer this question to determine your next best step:

Do you have an Ohio PreK–12 license or permit, or do you have an application in process?

  • Through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce's Learning Management System (LMS), educators have access to free courses and professional development opportunities, available anytime and anywhere. The Department’s LMS features online learning modules available to any educator with:

    • An active Ohio PreK–12 license or permit OR

    • Anyone who has submitted an application for a State of Ohio education credential

    Educators interested in taking any human capital online course can find additional information about the Learning Management System and other courses on the Department’s LMS page.

    Accessing the Department’s Learning Management System

    To use the LMS, you must have fully set up your OH|ID account. If the learning management system application is not an available application in your OH|ID account and you have an active license or have submitted your application for a license, please be sure you have completed the steps to fully connect your account to all education applications.

    The Online Learning Access Guide provides the steps to access human capital online learning for those with an Ohio license, permit, or application in process.

The newest online course is Attracting & Hiring Top Talent. It focuses on:

  • Candidate experience is how a job seeker perceives and interacts with an organization during the hiring process.

  • Process improvement involves systematic enhancements to the efficiency or effectiveness of processes. Both candidate experience and process improvement are critical for an effective talent acquisition system.

Specifically, you will learn the following as you complete this course:

  • Best practices for improving candidate experience

  • Components of a high-quality employer brand and employee value proposition

  • Social media strategies to enhance candidate experience

  • How to make recruitment practices more inclusive

  • How to identify waste in hiring processes

  • Strategies for interrupting bias in hiring

  • Legally permissible vs. impermissible hiring practices

  • Using AI to support hiring

Participants who complete the course will receive four clock hours.

Human Capital Essentials

This learning series equips principals and district hiring managers with foundational knowledge and practical strategies to enhance human capital practices by providing resources, reflection, and action planning to propel meaningful change.
