Building your capacity to attract, hire, and support Ohio educators

Looking for Help ?

From attracting and recruiting educators to supporting them throughout their careers, we can help.

You've come to the right place. Whether you are flying solo or working with a team, the Human Capital Resource Center can help you make day-to-day or bigger-picture decisions that will benefit you, your schools, education colleagues—and most of all your students.

Take the first step in your journey—learn more about how to make a difference.

Find out where your district, school, or organization currently stands and learn more about your existing strengths and opportunities for growth in your human capital management system (HCMS) by taking a free self-assessment.

This assessment is aligned with the Professional Human Capital Leaders in Education (pHCLE) Standards. The pHCLE standards were developed by a national committee of human capital leaders in PK–12 education institutions. They define the core knowledge and skills needed to improve talent practices in education.

Educators are a school’s single greatest asset.

That’s why having the right people matters. The Ohio Department of Education & Workforce believes in the power of school and district employees to change the lives of students.

For this reason, districts and schools must have caring, effective, and committed educators in their schools and classrooms.

This starts with an effective human capital management system (HCMS).

Resources to help you attract, hire, and support excellent educators.

To support Ohio districts and schools in this journey, we have created the Human Capital Resource Center (HCRC). The HCRC provides professional learning at no cost and free resources. Our resources are designed to help educators develop human capital expertise and gain a deeper understanding of the national human capital standards and their alignment with Ohio’s policies and practice.
